Experience college before graduating from high school at the UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI Pre-College
The Teen Expo has partnered with the University of Miami and now even more High school students have an opportunity to choose from 20 academic tracks for a pre college experience. Students can explore Indigenous perspectives on law and resilience; build an architecture design portfolio; discover engineering; develop a business plan; investigate cancer biology; study marine conservation; or meet executives from collegiate and professional sport administrations while earning college credit.
This opportunity offers both credit and non-credit programs for high school students seeking to gain college experience before graduating from high school. Upon completion, teens feel better prepared for the undergraduate admission process and gain confidence in their academic choices and ability to succeed in college.
Students elected for this scholarly program will have the opportunity to:
- CHOOSE FROM A DIVERSE SELECTION OF CREDIT AND NON-CREDIT ACADEMIC TRACKS BASED ON THEIR INTERESTS
- ATTEND CLASSES AND FORM LASTING FRIENDSHIPS WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
- LEARN FROM DISTINGUISHED UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI FACULTY
- DEVELOP TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND GROW AS INDEPENDENT THINKERS
- LIVE ON CAMPUS FOR AN INCLUSIVE PERSPECTIVE, COMMUTE, OR LEARN REMOTELY
- ENGAGE IN NUMEROUS ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
- EXPLORE MIAMI, AND PARTICIPATE IN EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS AND WORKSHOPS
Teens will select one non-credit course to study over the two-week session. Courses meet both mornings and afternoons in an engaging academic setting that allows students to get hands-on with their academic passions and explore college life.
